Details about carbon steel grade: Usually, carbon steel valves are supplied in the normalized conditions. These valves are available in tempered and normalized conditions. These valves are known for its moderate to high strength and toughness. These valves are made utilized in the down temperatures. These valves are hot worked in the temperatures between 900 deg C to 1200 deg C. The induced time should be kept minimum to prevent scaling. After the hot working operation, these are rapidly cooled by air.
These carbon steel valves are treated by normalizing and hardening process. These are reheated to get higher fracture toughness. This alloy has great machinability, depends on the end requirements.
