These flanges have better-localized corrosion resistance than the type of standard ferritic and austenitic alloys. UNS S32205 is far better than standard stainless steel grades. In general acidic environments, it offers good resistance, where the acid content is low.
The High-temperature strength is similar to the type of standard grades in the range of 950 deg C to 1150 deg C. However, this alloy displays a rapid increase in the strength in down temperature up to 900 deg C. considering cold workability, precautions is required as proof stress is high and elongation is low in this type of grade.
The Solution annealing of UNS S32205 should be performed at 1040 deg C and above, it is followed by being quenching within water or rapidly cooled by other air.
