Alloy 316 is an austenitic nickel and chromium SS that is composed of molybdenum. This increases its corrosion resistance ability and enhances resistance to pitting chloride ion solutions. Also, it has expanded service in the elevated temperatures. Its properties are the same as standard grades. Alloy 316L is the low carbon version of the grade 316 and alloy 316H is the higher carbon version. This makes it suitable where the higher temperatures are required.
Alloy 316Ti is stabilized with titanium with balanced austenitic chromium and nickel base.
